Appointment - Fire Chief
The Town of Hartford has recently undertaken an exhaustive search to fill a vacancy in the position of Chief of the Hartford Fire Department. The nationwide search resulted in 18 well qualified candidates from 13 states.
Finalists for the position underwent an extensive full day Assessment Center. The qualifications and abilities of the candidates were evaluated by a panel of career Fire Chiefs from throughout Vermont.
With this process now complete, the Town of Hartford is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven A. Locke of Hartland, Vt. as Chief of the Hartford Fire Department. Said appointment will take effect May 4th, 2008.
Mr. Locke is a long-time area resident and employee with over 16 years of service to the Department as a Firefighter, Lieutenant and most recently as a Captain.
We commend Mr. Locke for his dedication to his profession; congratulate him on his work with the department and his selection as its next Chief. We look forward to working with him as we bring the Department to new heights and unparalleled service to our residents. We encourage the public to contact Chief Locke with their needs or concerns following his installation on May 4th, 2008.
